THE FINAL RIDE

Death

Be considerate,

Hope you

Are not in a hurry,

Come gently,

And take me in your stride,

Let me be your bride,

In this timeless ride

As we walk out of this world,

I don’t want to leave behind

Marks, impressions or footprints

Of us anywhere

I intend to carry nothing

With me,

In this final journey,

Want to travel light

Sans any baggage

Taking pleasure in your stillness

Without the burden of life

Leaving everything

Behind…
